>World Cup Semifinal: India vs. Pakistan

It’s the game everyone is waiting for. It’s India vs. Pakistan. Both the teams have faced each other 4 times in the World Cup and India has managed to win all the four times.

It’s the semifinal of ICC Cricket World Cup, but it’s status has changed to a very high profile game. It’s always special when the two rivals India and Pakistan play against each other. And to witness this clash, many politicians and celebrities will be coming to Mohali.  Indian PM Manmohan Singh, Pakistani PM Yusuf Raza Gilani, President of the ruling party in India and its General Secretary, Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, Bollywood Actor Aamir Khan will be the some of the dignitaries, present at PCA Ground in Mohali.

The media has compared this match to a Maha Yudh( a great war). When Dhoni was asked, “Wasn’t there a danger of losing focus in such a climate?” he answered “It depends on what you actually mean by hype – the hype created by the media, the sponsors. We are not getting involved and that is what is important. You need to be aware of what we are expected to do and we are expected to play good cricket on the field. All these things have been part of the Indian cricket for a long time. Of course the biggest distinguished guests will be there to see the game but they are here to enjoy cricket, which means we will have to play well and we will prepare well and see how it goes.”

Pakistan will be eying at ending their victory drought with their first victory against India in the World Cup, whereas India will be looking forward for their fifth victory over Pakistan, and entering the final of the World Cup. Who so ever wins today will face Sri Lanka in the final at Mumbai.
